Entries have now closed for Round 1 of the 2018 KNSW State Championships being hosted by the Coffs Harbour Kart Racing Club at Coffs Harbour Kart Racing Grounds over three days next week – Friday 27, Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 April 2018
There are nine (9) Championship Classes – in order of number of entries – they are:
Cadet 12 (25), TaG 125 Light (24), KA4 Junior Light (21), TaG 125 Heavy (21), KA3 Senior Light (20), KA3 Junior (19), KA3 Senior Medium (18), Cadet 9 (10). KA4 Junior Heavy (8)
That’s a total of 166 entries.
That’s bound to produce some very competitive racing.
The first day of round 1 of NSW Kart Championship (Friday 27 April 2018) will be devoted to practice. The Friday morning period is scheduled for untimed practice sessions. The Friday afternoon period is scheduled for two (2) timed practice sessions. Drivers must have confirmed their entry and transponders must be fitted to decide timed qualifying grid order.
Timed qualifying will now be held on Saturday morning 28 April 2018.
Trophies and Prizes for Round 1 include:
Trophies for the top three finishers in the final of each Class – supplied by Coffs Harbour KRC
Each Championship class winner will be awarded a “Round Winner 2018 NSW Championship” Nassau panel sticker supplied by KNSW
Two (2) free race entries – 1 Junior and 1 Senior – for Round 2 of the State Championships at Dubbo, randomly drawn at the Trophy Presentation ceremony
Two (2) $150 vouchers for an engine rebuild from Torque Race Engines – randomly drawn at the Trophy Presentation ceremony
One (1) set of tyres per Championship Class, randomly drawn at the Trophy Presentation ceremony
One set (1) of AMV Mini Light Cadet aluminum wheels for competitors eligible for Cadet 9 Class only – drawn randomly at the trophy presentation ceremony – supplied by Coffs Harbour KRC, Karting Addiction Australia and AMV Wheels Australia
To claim a major prize in the random draw at the Trophy Presentation ceremony at the final round of the Championships at Lithgow, the winner must have competed in all three (3) rounds of the Championship Series and be present at the time of the draw
Major prizes include six (6) $500 vouchers for product and services at St George Karts ……… with more to come
KNSW is currently conducting an online poll on the KNSW website about the State Championship. KNSW will use the data gathered from the poll to make informed, meaningful decisions about the conduct of future Championship events. All members and licence holders are encouraged to take this opportunity to have a say simply by going to the KNSW website and clicking on your choice. KNSW had 305 responses in its previous poll about favourite competitions that has proven to be very helpful for the management plan. The poll will close on Friday 04 May 2018.
