Newly elected Chairman of Karting NSW David Filipetto would like to announce the newly elected board for Karting NSW following elections held at the Annual General Meeting on Saturday the 2nd of September 2017.

The new Karting NSW board was a direct result of constitutional changes agreed by the member clubs. Karting NSW identified the need for expertise in various business disciplines to inject growth into Karting. Resulting in a larger board with specific areas of responsibility.

Outgoing Chairman Derek Ferry at the AGM made the following statement “I would like to take this opportunity to welcome the new Directors of KNSW and look forward to working with them in the future. Also, I would like to thank the Delegates past and present for the assistance they have given to running our State. To my Board members a big thank you for your help and assistance in running the state. I cannot thank you enough for the endless hours you have all given.”

The newly elected board is a diverse group with a single focus on making Karting NSW an extremely successful sport with strong clubs, membership growth and an exciting, fair and safe competition. Of particular significance welcoming Karting NSW second female Board Member in Ilona Alsters who holds her own not just in the board room but also on the race track and will help drive female participation.

Newly elected Chairman David Filipetto has the following words to say “It has been a fast transition with the board already meeting twice to discuss and resolve pressing issues. On behalf of the board we are all committed and excited to be in position and inject growth into the sport. The focus is on building strong clubs with great racing for competitors through relationships and improved participant numbers. We look forward to working with all clubs, building a great relationship with the Karting Australia board and CEO and other state organisations”

David echoes Derek’s comments and thanks the outgoing board members Arthur Mortimer, Russell Grimson, Max Laybutt, Paul Hull and Peter O’Neill for their tireless effort and achievements over many years. In particular in developing the new structure and constitution and delivering key grants to the organisation through the NSW Government.

David also has the great pleasure in announcing Derek Ferry has accepted the position of General Manager for Karting NSW effective immediately. David brings significant history and expertise to the sport and the newly formed board.
