The “KNSW – Race Like A Girl” initiative was developed as part of the NSW Government’s Her Sport Her Way program, to provide opportunities for women and girls to participate in a sport they haven’t traditionally participated in. The Her Sport Her Way Grant Program provides up to $2.6 million over four years to assist our state sporting organisations in growing their game for women and girls, reduce barriers to participation, and promote inclusive sport experiences.
The Program’s objectives include:
- Participation: Increase the number of women and girls playing sport and improve the retention of adolescent girls
- Leadership: Increase the number of women in leadership positions both on and off the field
- Capability: Build gender inclusive sporting cultures and environment
Karting (New South Wales) Inc supports this initiative to increase overall participation numbers in our sport and builds an inclusive sporting culture and environment.
With that in mind, we are excited to promote an upcoming “Ladies Karting Camp” which is scheduled to take place on 14th and 15th November 2020 at Lithgow City Raceway. Participants will be will receive coaching on:
- Kart Preparation
- Data Analysis
- Driver Training
And receive mentoring and guidance from Shayne Piper, Bec Connell and DR Karts.
This initiative was first tabled from some of our karting dads that have daughters in the sport – wishing to grow and develop participation further. We applaud their initiative and are pleased to support it.
The cost is $150 per entrant and available to Novice, Rookie, Junior and Seniors.
If you are interested in joining the weekend, entries are accepted through OMNI at Enter Here.
