In an attempt to remove barriers for competitors travelling to Karting NSW sanctioned events, KNSW has updated the Policy regarding animals at Go Kart Race Facilities following extensive research and consultation with member clubs.
Instead of what was previously a ‘Hard No’ for all events, Karting NSW now recommends that the race facility is to be a pet free zone with the exception of Assistance Animals.
However, if the club decides to allow Companion Animals (pets) at their events, it is the responsibility of the race facility owner and the organising club to manage any risk that is associated with having Companion animals (pets) at their event – which includes practice.
Club Management must consider the level of risk that Companion animals (pets) present and how the club will manage these potential risks if they decide to allow pets at their events.
Important: Not every race track is pet friendly, and clubs have every right to refuse entry to Companion animals (pets). It is extremely important to read the Supplementary Regulations for each event to determine whether or not your pet will be allowed at the facility.
Karting NSW asks competitors, spectators, pit crew, etc to follow the directions of Officials, respect the decisions of Club Management, be a responsible pet owner, as well as use common sense and good judgement with regard to safety and consideration of others.
The policy will be reviewed annually, and may be updated more frequently if required.
